Meet The Team

Frances Rooks Patterson

Executive Director

Fran is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a BS in Special Education, holds teaching certifications in both Texas and Mississippi, and has over 35 years’ experience in this field. Her career has allowed her to work with people of all ages and abilities with special needs and includes time at Willowood Developmental Center, Rankin County Schools, CASA Mississippi, Frisco Independent School district in Frisco, TX, and Special Olympics Mississippi. Fran has been with Little Light House since 2016 when she began her time here as a classroom teacher and was appointed director in 2017.  She is a devoted advocate for our students and their families, focusing on their individual needs while making sure they have every opportunity to thrive in our community.

Crystal McCann
Director of Development & Marketing

Crystal holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Belhaven University. With over seven years of nonprofit marketing experience, she has dedicated her career to mission-driven work and community engagement. Before joining Little Light House, Crystal worked in the Development Department at Innovate Mississippi. At Little Light House, she is committed to raising awareness and generating support, ensuring that children with special needs receive free, high-quality services. Crystal is passionate about highlighting the students' abilities, their families' resilience, and their positive impact on the community.

Wesley Mockbee, ESQ
Capital Campaign Manager

Wesley received a Bachelor of Accountancy (2007) and a J.D. (2010) from the University of Mississippi.  Wesley joined LLH in 2023 as Capital Campaign Manager after 13 years as a litigation attorney, spending the last 11 years focusing on construction law.  Wesley is a parent of a LLH student. He knows firsthand the impact that this ministry can have on kids with special needs and their families. Wesley believes that God is calling LLH to expand this ministry in a big way, and he believes that we are going to do that – with your help.  Born and raised in Jackson, Wesley and his wife Chelsea live in Jackson with 4 kids. Their oldest daughter lives with Jesus.

Terri Kennedy, MS-SLP
Director of Children & Family Services

Terri has a Master’s Degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Southern MS. She has worked in a variety of settings over her 40 year career including public school, home health, outpatient clinic, rehab center and private practice. Terri has served the students of the Little Light House for the past 16 and a half years as both a classroom Speech/Language Pathologist and Lead Therapist. Her greatest joy is helping nonverbal individuals find their voice. She has loved her time at the Little Light House and is excited to serve our students and families in her new role. ​
