Welcome Fran Patterson as Executive Director!
Frances Rooks Patterson, Madison, was named Executive Director of The Little Light House of Central Mississippi in January. Patterson has over 25 years of experience in special education, serving as a teacher in Texas and Mississippi public schools, and most recently as a classroom teacher of preschool-aged children with special needs at The Little Lighthouse. She is the former director of Athlete and Family Initiatives for Special Olympics Mississippi. “Frances Patterson is a versatile and devoted child advocate with a solid focus on the individual needs of our students. She is a kindhearted and determined professional who is flexible and accommodating in the design and implementation of hands-on learning experiences. We are fortunate to have her leadership and expertise here,” said The Little Light House Director of Development, Sweyn Simrall. Patterson served in the Frisco, Texas Independent School District for 7 years where she received specialized training in Crisis Prevention Intervention, Thinking Maps, The Ziggurat Model, First Steps Math, Kagan Structures, and Behavioral Based Interventions for Children with Autism. She is certified in Mississippi and Texas with an Educator License in Special Education. She holds a B.S. in Special Education from Mississippi State University. She and her husband Gregg Patterson are Jackson natives, and have four children.
